Lunar Eclipse

Luke, Gavin, Frolic and I went downtown to Cooper Riverside Park to watch the lunar eclipse. It was really cool but my camera was not strong enough to take any pictures of it. We did take some really strange looking pictures of the area with the lights reflecting. Well I liked them anyway.

Bay Fest Fun and Wanna Bees

This weekend we went to downtown Mobile for the 10th annual Bay Fest Music Festival. There were many stages with just about any kind of music you could want to see. There was pop, country, alternative, rap, gospel and the list goes on and on. I am a fan of various kinds of music and there were several acts that I wanted to see. Gavin and I went down on Friday night at about 7:30pm. We setup camp at the WABB stage for the night. First on was Foghat. The sucked so we walked around and looked at some of the booths that were setup around the festival area. We went back to the WABB stage at 10:00 and watched the Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular. I have not seen one of those in years. It was good but I think that it loses something outside without the roof for the lasers to bounce off of. Gavin really liked it.

Saturday I had to go get fitted for one of my Mardi Gras costumes. When I was done I headed over to TP Crockmiers for a Wanna Bee luncheon at 12:00 noon. Charlotte, Teresa, Dana, Peggy and myself were there. We stayed and ate, drank and socialized until around 4:00pm and then went down the street on a shopping escapade looking for Teresa a bedside table. Around 5:00pm I had to go so I could grab Gavin and head back downtown to Bay Fest. Saturday night was the night for all the best acts.

There were so many good acts. We parked by the WBLX entrance because the last act of the evening that we wanted to see was on that stage. We walked around the the WABB stage and setup our chairs. Three Days Grace was great but Seether and George Clinton rock the place. We had a blast. Peggy and her friend Lou come by and Dana showed up too. We made it back to the house around 12:00 midnight and crashed. We slept until past noon the next day. A super fun filled weekend will take all your energy but it is well worth it.

Sunday was the final day and we headed down early to check out all the booths and enjoy the day. On the WABB stage one of the morning guys Matt proposed to his girlfriend. It was really sweet. With this being the 10th anninversay there were so many good acts you could not possible see them all. Some of the ones I missed were the Commodores, Ruben Studdard, Travis Tritt (I don't like country), and The Beach Boys. Bay Fest will be October 7, 8 and 9th next year and I will be there.
